Modern Love: About Enigmatic Human Emotion

Modern Love is an anthology show about the enigmatic human emotion called love in New York. In season 2 of this series, the sweet (and sour!) love stories move outside of New York City.
Notably, this contemporary series is “Inspired by personal essays from The New York Times column Modern Love.” Although its makers have clarified that certain elements have been fictionalised, this show is based on a newspaper column that explores relationships, love, and human connection in the 21st century.
“We are most alive when we’re in love.”
John Updike, writer
Moreover, we get to see the present-day love stories from around the world in season two of the series.

Brief Comment
In this anthology show, we loved season one of this series. And most of the love stories really touched our hearts. On the other hand, we could not establish an emotional connection with the characters that featured in a couple of the episodes. Besides, season two could not live up to the high standards of the first season. Although a bunch of the episodes of season two were great, too. And a few of the episodes did try to push the definition of love beyond the usual societal norms. We think, it is really brave on their part. However, certainly, there will be pushback. Now, it is up to viewers to pick, choose, like and love.
Anyways, with a playtime of about half an hour for each of the sixteen episodes, one can easily marathon (binge) watch the two seasons of this romantic series in about eight and a half hours. Or perhaps one can pick and choose by checking out the ratings of each episode. Both Love and relationships are indeed complicated for all of us, humans. But we should never give up on it – the strength and bonding of the emotion called love. So, go ahead, watch and experience the different facets of Love in this modern age and time.
