Naatu Naatu is a global hit song from the RRR movie, which won the 95th Academy (2023 Oscar) Awards for the best song. This Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is from the OST of – RRR movie. The film narrates the tales of two legendary Native revolutionaries of India. However, it depicts a fictionalised version of Indian history.

Notably, the RRR movie depicts the early life journey of these two freedom fighters, before they challenged the might of the British Empire in 1920s colonial India. Please note that both Alluri Sitarama Raju (or Manyam Veerudu) and Komaram Bheem (or Kumram Bheem) are the real-life rebel leaders of the indigenous tribal (Adivasi) community living in the Telugu-speaking state of southern India during the British colonial period. Although the RRR film (original Telugu language directed by S. S. Rajamouli) has novelised their real-life stories.

As a presenter at the Oscars stage, leading Indian actress Deepika Padukone introduced the original song nominee of RRR film, amidst loud applause and cheers. It was the cherry on top of the cake.

And then the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song from the ‘RRR’ won the Oscar Award 2023 for Best Original Song and billions of Indians rejoiced across the world. Cutting across party lines, even the Members of Parliament in India celebrated its win.
