Wolfs is an entertaining Hollywood movie wherein two of its leading global superstars George Clooney and Brad Pitt come together again for the thrilling action-comedy.
Interestingly, the movie’s title is “Wolfs,” which is the wrong word grammatically. No wonder many movie viewers have searched for this film using “Wolves.”
“Wolfs” Is A Slick Throwback Action Comedy Film, Powered By The Smart Pairing Of The Superstars – Clooney & Pitt
Spoiler Free Review: Wolfs (2024/USA) Movie Review
The trailer
Most likely, it seems that perhaps this movie is inspired by the Pulp Fiction (1994) movie. As we came across the singular "The Wolf", aka Winston Wolf (Harvey Keitel) in the said film. So, the original "The Wolf" was a fixer in the Pulp Fiction. Moreover, the license plate for the Acura RSX of Winston Wolf in Pulp Fiction movie was California 3ABM581. Therefore, in this Wolfs (2024) movie, George Clooney's BMW car's license plate is New York 3ABM582.
The synopsis
In this Hollywood movie, George Clooney takes on the role of a professional fixer to manage the fallout from a high-profile crime. The plot thickens when another fixer, portrayed by Brad Pitt, enters the scene, necessitating a partnership between the two solitary figures.
Their encounter occurs when both are called upon to address the repercussions of a significant misstep by a New York official. As the evening progresses, these two “lone wolves” face a cascade of unforeseen complications. For a chaotic night, they are compelled to set aside their differences and egos to accomplish their objective.
Jon Watts’ screenplay & direction are racy and entertaining
Despite the predictable twists and turns in the “Wolfs” movie, Jon Watts has written and directed a racy and entertaining Hollywood commercial potboiler. No doubt, the larger-than-life presence of Pitt and Clooney certainly assisted in making it a charming film to watch. It is a slick throwback action comedy film, like the “Bad Boys” movie, which celebrates the (love-hate) bromance between its two lead characters. And that certainly makes it a fascinating film.
Both Brad Pitt & George Clooney are delightful
It is interesting to note that it is the sixth cinematic endeavour featuring the on-screen partnership of real-life friends and American actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney. We are reminded of their past roles in the Ocean Trilogy {Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Ocean’s Twelve (2004) & Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) movies} along with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) film and Burn After Reading (2008) film.
As we have seen, especially in the Ocean Trilogy movies, Brad Pitt and George Clooney continue to enjoy the dynamic and charismatic screen presence. Similarly, in this action-packed movie, these two ageing superstars (Pitt and Clooney) play the roles of the fixers perfectly. Amusingly, we do not get to learn the names of these two secretive fixers.
As the conversation shared below shows, their contact banter kept us engaged and entertained. Although it is not a buddy film, still we could feel their on-screen chemistry.
Margaret's Man (George Clooney): Thanks.
Pam's Man (Brad Pitt): Happy to help.
Margaret's Man (George Clooney): Dick.
Pam's Man (Brad Pitt): Putz.
Pitt and Clooney – the two influential superstars are alive and kicking in it. The rest of the ensemble cast did not have much to do. However, besides these two, we liked the performances of Amy Ryan (Margaret), Austin Abrams (Kid), Poorna Jagannathan (June), etc. And it was a pity that we only heard Frances McDormand {Pam (voice)} in this film and not watch her. Maybe, we are going to see more of these characters in future. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Spoilers alert – ending explained
The ending of the movie is explained below
Ending inspired by 1969 Hollywood Classic
The classic 1969 Western film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid culminates with its two protagonists Cassidy and Kid trapped against a formidable group of gunmen. The film shifts to the credits just before they are about to engage in a final confrontation, hinting at their potential death without overtly illustrating it.
“Just the Two of Us” ending in Wolfs film
Margaret's Man (George Clooney): You know, I never did catch your name.
Pam's Man (Brad Pitt): Tell you what, we survive this...
Margaret's Man (George Clooney): Deal.
Pam's Man (Brad Pitt): Ready?
Margaret's Man (George Clooney): Yeah.
"Just the Two of Us" song
In a parallel manner, this Wolfs (2024) movie concludes with a similar sense of uncertainty, as the credits begin to roll at the start of the last shootout, leaving the survival of Clooney and Pitt’s characters open to interpretation. At the same time, we hear the “Just the Two of Us” song by Bill Withers and Grover Washington, Jr play in the background.
...
Just the two of us
We can make it if we try
Just the two of us
(Just the two of us)
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
You and I
We look for love, no time for tears
Wasted water's all that is
And it don't make no flowers grow
Good things might come to those who wait
Not for those who wait too late
We gotta go for all we know
...
According to our interpretation, we believe that we might see more of these two (Clooney and Pitt) fixers, as they survive the gunfight at the end.
Hopefully, these two fixers will come together in another action-comedy movie.

The conclusion
Our wish is that if they (Pitt & Clooney) come up with the next part of this film in future, then Jon Watts should fine-tune its script. In addition, Jon should tie up the loose end.
To conclude, the “Wolfs” movie is a fun film and good for at least a one-time viewing.
