Jolly LLB 3: Poor Farmers Vs Rich Tycoon

Jolly LLB 3 (2025-India) Movie FI

Jolly LLB 3 (India/2025/Hindi) is a movie that cleverly employs wit, humour, and comedy to pose several pertinent questions about forcible land acquisition in the villages of Bikaner, Rajasthan. However, as most of the Indians are well aware, the coercive land procurement cases are a pan-India problem.

Across India, Indian farmers are facing a daunting task to save their precious agricultural lands from wealthy businesspersons. The broken administrative and governance system tends to favour the rich and powerful. And sadly, that is not all. Given such harsh ground realities, what can Jolly LLB do for penniless folks?

Can Jolly(s) Defeat The Mighty Billionaire Tycoon & Save The Poverty-Stricken Farmers’ Land In Court?

Spoiler Free Review: Jolly LLB 3 (Hindi/2025/India) Movie

Writer & director Subhash Kapoor did well in this masala film

Subhas Kapoor has done a wonderful job in writing a socially relevant script that asks all the right questions. He has used smart and light-hearted comedy to focus on the social issues that really matter in today’s India. So, his commercial cinema is posing difficult questions to all Indians. His medicines are sweet.

Quite a few movie dialogues in this film talk about VM in London.
We wonder, does the writer mean Vijay Mallaya, the Indian businessman, who is still facing legal battles in India?

We all realise that India is a land of over 1.4 billion people, making it the most populous country in the world. Moreover, India is a developing nation that aspires to join the ranks of developed nations, sooner rather than later. And one of the ways to achieve that is to fast-track India’s movement away from the dominant Agriculture sector towards the Industrial sector. So, the forceful large-scale land acquisition (of farmers in villages) is often employed as a weapon for mass displacements. And more often than not, the poor and underprivileged Indians were asked to sacrifice their land for the growth and development of the nation.

Now, there are 2 Jolly(s) in the Delhi Court-room

More than a decade ago, we met the lead actor, Arshad Warsi, who played the protagonist Jolly in the Jolly LLB (2013) movie. Then, after a few years down the line, another lead actor, Akshay Kumar, portrayed Jolly in the Jolly LL.B 2 (2017) movie. We liked both movies in this franchise, as they were fairly entertaining. However, to be honest, for us, the first one was slightly better than the second one. Now, the third part of this Hindi movie franchise has brought back both the lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, in the Jolly LLB 3 (2025) movie. And, no doubt, their introduction in this film is imaginatively done.

Bonus information: Two actors who played Jolly in the first two parts are both part of the third (Jolly LLB 3) instalment, Arshad Warsi in Jolly LLB (Part 1/2013) and Akshay Kumar in Jolly LL.B 2 (Part 2/2017).

Why does this movie title remind us of this famous song (as we agree with Justice's views?

For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow,
For he's a jolly good fellow, and so say all of us,
And so say all of us, and so say all of us!...
Good Performances in comedic, dramatic & emotional scenes

This Hindi dramedy movie is led by two leading men, played by Akshay Kumar (Advocate Jagdishwar ‘Jolly’ Mishra) and Arshad Warsi (Advocate Jagdish ‘Jolly’ Tyagi). Needless to state that both of them play the heroes. We liked the good comic timings of these two lead actors, Akshay and Arshad. They did manage to make us laugh. On the other hand, the seasoned actor Saurabh Shukla (Justice Sunderlal Tripathi) shines brightly in the comedic scenes. His on-screen romantic chemistry with Shilpa Shukla (Police woman Chanchal Chautala) is a surprise, indeed. This feel-good movie script moves along the expected line.

It is worth noting that both Gajraj Rao (54 years) and Ram Kapoor (52 years) are younger than Akshay Kumar (58 years) and Arshad Warsi (57 years) in real life, though they play elderly roles in the film. Similarly, Seema Biswas (60 years) is only 2 years older than Akshay Kumar in real life.

However, there are a bunch of unexpected twists and turns in the movie. We liked the way Seema Biswas plays the character of a sole surviving widow (Janki Rajaram Solanki) with a lot of depth and empathy. Her silent bravery comes through in each and every scene of hers. Then, the main antagonist, the powerful billionaire businessman Haribhai Khaitan, is perfectly portrayed by Gajraj Rao. He plays this sinister character evocatively. His partner in crime, the suave Advocate Vikram Ray Chaudhary, is stylishly performed by Ram Kapoor. The rest of the ensemble did not have much to do. And it is not quite right.

Finally to sum up

This movie brings to our screen a proverbial good-versus-bad story. Here, the wealthy capitalists take undue advantage of the broken system (politicians, police, administration, banks, etc.) to grab limited natural resources like land from the farmers. It is not a typical comedy film. There is too much human drama in it. In fact, this legal drama uses comedy to highlight a burning socio-economic issue in India. So, it is different. No doubt, Jolly LLB 3 is a thought-provoking yet entertaining film. And now, what’s next for Jolly?
