The introduction
In India, most shows transport us into a make-believe world, where the harsh realities of caste, religion, region, and class remain absent. And the “Panchayat” (S-1 to S-4) is no different. No wonder it remains a fan favourite show among many viewers. Such kind of comedy shows provide us with an escape from the life of daily struggle and drudgery among the middle-class and lower-middle-class folks. The popularity of the “Panchayat” Hindi comedy drama can be gauged from the fact that now the official remake, “Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam”, a Tamil comedy show, has been released, not so long ago.
"Panchayat" is a lighthearted comedy-drama that follows the life of Abhishek (Jitendra Kumar), an engineering graduate who, faced with limited job prospects, takes on the role of secretary at a panchayat office in a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. Navigating the quirks of eccentric villagers and the challenges of rural life, Abhishek embarks on this unexpected journey with one goal in mind: to escape this village and pursue his dreams, which motivates him to prepare for the CAT exam.

Fans love the make-believe world of the Phulera village
Along with the fans, we also adore this fascinating world of the “Panchayat” created by its writers, Chandan Kumar. Certainly, he has retained a lot of innocence among its main cast members, despite the fact a they are engaged in a bitter political battle in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. Except for one firing incident and a bunch of violent scenes, the majority of the show strives to show clean and sanitised comedy fit for mass consumption. Maybe many of us yearn for the simplicity and the predictability of life depicted in the show. And this is what makes us fall in love with many of its endearing characters and their stories.
Most of its characters are charming and memorable
Almost all the actors and actresses have done a splendid job in portraying these charming and memorable characters. Kudos to each one of them, Jitendra Kumar (Abhishek Tripathi), Raghubir Yadav (Brijbhushan Dubey), Neena Gupta (Manju Devi Dubey), Chandan Roy (Vikas Shukla), Faisal Malik (Prahlad Pandey), Sanvikaa (Rinki Dubey), Tripti Sahu (Khushboo), Durgesh Kumar (Bhushan Sharma), Sunita Rajwar (Kranti Devi Sharma), Ashok Pathak (Binod), Bulloo Kumar (Madhav), Pankaj Jha (MLA Chandra Kishore Singh), Gaurav Singh (Chhuttan Singh/Chootan), Amit Kumar Maurya (Bam Bahadur), etc.
The conclusion
If someone asks us to pick our favourite cast among all of these, then we will not be able to. All of them have left an impactful and powerful performance. It has a wonderful ensemble cast, who have excelled for the fourth straight season. And, now, we look forward to its next season of fun and entertainment.
We leave you all with a food for thought.
India has a charged political scenario in recent years, where any movie (or series) that exposes the truth of the matter they are attacked from all directions. On the other hand, the ideologically aligned propaganda movies (series) are openly endorsed and promoted by the ruling dispensation. Most of the Indians are well aware of the rough and tough ground realities that exist in the villages in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Recently, an award-winning Hindi movie, Santosh, tried to show the real face of rural India. But then the government banned it. And it remains unreleased in India.
