The screenplay has many intriguing layers
One of the most fascinating aspects of this fast-paced mystery thriller from the USA is its intriguing storyline. It follows the basic and time-tested premises of a good murder mystery, which involves many usual suspects pooling. Furthermore, this modern espionage drama set in the present day and age integrates the geopolitical realities of our world. So, we get the usual suspects, painted as the suspected villains, viz., the Iran, the War Criminal, etc. And of course, a bunch of false flags are integrated in this spy tale.
Therefore, the protagonist chases the murder leads as well as foils the terrorist attacks on American soil. Moreover, the twists and turns introduced by its writers (named above) in its script have only made it an engrossing show to watch.

A good ensemble cast led by lead actor Gabriel Basso
The other interesting aspect of this secret agent drama is the credible performance by the athletic lead actor Gabriel Basso. It seems that Gabriel Basso is growing in stature and confidence while portraying the protagonist Peter Sutherland. Additionally, it is unusual to see the character of Rose Larkin take on the additional responsibilities of an unofficial (Night) agent. Besides, the beautiful lead actress Luciane Buchanan plays his love interest Rose Larkin remarkably well.
We especially appreciated the performances of the Arienne Mandi (Noor), Keon Alexander (Javad), Navid Negahban (Abbas Mansuri), Marjan Neshat (Azita Taheri), Anousha (Haleh), etc. In this show, they authentically played Iranian characters, speaking in Farsi, often.
The rest of the ensemble cast also portrayed their characters capably.
The conclusion
The Night Agent is a perfect series for the eight-plus hours of marathon (binge) watch this weekend. We did the same and enjoyed it tremendously. The season finale of this series suggests that it is going to have a thrilling future. With many conspiracies to unmask.

The second season finale ending explained & what the future holds for The Night Agent
Season Ending & Future
We have often heard (Karl Marx) saying “History repeats itself, first as a tragedy, second as a farce. Now, in this series, the Night Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) has fallen into the same patterns as his disgraced father, who committed treason acts.
The finale of the second season revealed that Peter has become a double agent, like his father. He has agreed to serve as a mole in Jacob Monroe’s efforts to expunge his criminal history. With President Hagan on the verge of taking office, Peter is faced with challenging decisions in the forthcoming season three. It seems that the apple never falls far from the tree, or is it? We think Peter might get a chance to redeem himself in future. Although he is going to find himself in a precarious position, most likely, he will find a way out.
