The Cleaner (Season 3) deals with crime scenes, blood, gore and mayhem. Once again, the 2.03 m tall crime scene cleaner Wicky (Greg Davies) is back with a quirky set of characters.
This British series, “The Cleaner,” is based on the German series “Der Tatortreiniger” (Crime Scene Cleaner/2011-2018), which was created by the writer Mizzi Meyer.
“The Cleaner” focuses on the ludicrousness of everyday living, as this sitcom is loaded with typical British humour

The trailer
The synopsis
Paul “Wicky” Wickstead (Greg Davies) is a certified cleaning technician recognized by the state, with a distinct focus on crime scene cleaning, ensuring the thorough removal of any indicators of death. Once the CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) has concluded their tasks, the cleaner “Wicky” is left to scrub away the macabre evidence. For Wicky, a bloodbath and the pub are simply integral components of a typical workday. At the macabre crime scene, sociable “Wicky” meets and interacts with all sorts of odd (and normal) people.
The Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
Of course, the USP of this sitcom is the unusual setting of the crime (murder) scene. As we said earlier, in the course of fulfilling his responsibilities of cleaning up the crime scene, Paul “Wicky” Wickstead (Greg Davies) encounters an array of odd individuals. Due to his sociable nature, Wicky occasionally engages in more gossip than actual cleaning. Therefore, such interactions, more often than not, lead to hilariously light as well as dark humour scenes. And this is what makes it a different kind of sitcom.
So, what else did we like about this British Sitcom?
We liked the uncommon pairing of the 2.03 m tall Wicky (Greg Davies) and the 1.52 m tall Ruth (Zita Sattar). Despite their height difference, they look like a cute pair in it. No doubt, their relationship has seen a fair bit of bloody crime scenes in the three seasons. But they have remained steadfast.
Now, after the season 3 finale, we are wondering as to where their love affair is heading. We will have to wait for the next season to learn about their fate. Besides, these two regulars, this sitcom has scores of well-known actors and actresses making their presence felt in its eighteen (18) episodes, so far. We liked the fresh faces in each episode of the series.
