The newly released series in the first month of the New Year offers limited options. Hence, we have included some of the 2024 series that are still on and/or released on streaming platforms recently.

The List of 10 Series To Watch In January 2025

1. Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (2025/English/UK) Mini-Series

New series

Based on actual events, on December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 tragically exploded over Lockerbie, resulting in the deaths of 259 passengers and crew members just 38 minutes after take-off, along with 11 residents of the serene Scottish town. Following this catastrophe and the loss of his daughter, Dr. Jim Swire (Firth) becomes the spokesperson for the families of UK victims, who have come together to seek truth and justice. 

His journey takes him across continents and through political barriers, as he embarks on a tireless quest that threatens his personal stability, family life, and overall existence, while fundamentally shaking his faith in the justice system. As the truth becomes increasingly elusive, Jim's perspective on life is irrevocably altered. 

The limited (2025) mini-series delves into the events surrounding the disaster and its repercussions, offering a poignant portrayal of a man, husband, and father who sacrifices everything in honour of his daughter and the unwavering pursuit of truth and justice.

2. Black Warrant (2025/Hindi/India) Series

What is life like within the confines of Asia's largest prison? What happens when a man is hanged, yet his pulse continues for an astonishing two hours? Did Ram Singh, the rapist of Nirbhaya, take his own life, or was he murdered?

5. Bandidos (Season 2/Spanish/Mexico) Series

6. Missing You (2025/USA/UK) Mini-Series

7. Matlock (Season 1/2024-2025/USA/English) Series

8. Landman (Season 1/2024-2025/USA) Series

This 2024 series continues to air in 2025.

A modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.

9. The Agency (Season 1/2024-2025/USA/English) Series

This 2024 series continues to air in 2025.

Martian (Michael Fassbender), a secret agent for the CIA, receives orders to terminate his undercover operations and return to the London Station. Upon the unexpected return of a former love, old feelings resurface. He finds himself torn between his professional obligations, true identity, and mission, as they clash with his emotions, thrusting him into a perilous world of international intrigue and espionage. 

This USA series is actually based on an award-winning The Bureau (Le Bureau des légendes/5 Seasons/2015-2020) French television series.

10. Dexter Original Sin (Season 1/2024-2025/USA/English) Series

This 2024 series continues to air in 2025.

 Set against the backdrop of Miami in 1991, this series depicts the transformation of Dexter (Patrick Gibson) from a student into a relentless serial killer. When his murderous instincts can no longer be contained, Dexter is compelled to learn how to control his inner darkness. With the support of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he embraces a Code that guides him in locating and dispatching those who he believes should be removed from society, all while remaining under the radar of law enforcement. This endeavor is particularly challenging for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
