The synopsis
It is a tale about Sajini Shinde: one perfect daughter (ek perfect beti), one perfect fiancée (ek perfect mangetar), one perfect teacher (ek perfect teacher), and one viral video (aur ek viral video). When a school teacher, Sajini Shinde (Radhika Madan), goes missing after a risqué video of her is posted on the internet, a police officer, Bela Barot (Nimrat Kaur), is tasked with uncovering the truth behind her disappearance.
A brief note about its storyline
The story of this Hindi film is set in Pune city, Maharashtra. Its protagonist, Sajini Shinde, is a young woman who belongs to the new generation. She works as an educator in a prestigious school. So, not only is she well-educated, but she is also a financially independent working woman. Furthermore, Sajini is engaged to a software engineer. They plan to get married in the near future. No doubt, everyone believes that Sajini has a bright future ahead of her in life. Or, perhaps that is what she and everyone else imagined.
However, Sajini Shinde’s viral video changed the views and behaviour of everyone around her. In fact, the people started talking rubbish about her. This happened right after her compromising video was posted online. Even her well-wishers and loved ones (fiancé, bosses, friends, family members, colleagues, etc.) turned their backs and walked away. Ironically, she considered these people her confidants and members of her extended support group. Furthermore, the attitude of society in general changed for the worse towards her sorry plight. Left with no option, heartbroken and grief-stricken, Sajini Shinde disappears.

About its main cast
Two accomplished actors, Radhika Madan (Sajini Shinde) and Nimrat Kaur (Inspector Bela Barot), manage to hold the viewers’ attention with their charming acts. The other cast members did well too – Bhagyashree (Kalyani), Subodh Bhave (Suryakant Shinde – Sajini’s father), Soham Majumdar (Siddhant Kadam), Chinmay Mandekar (Inspector Ram Pawar), Sneha Raikar (Urmila Shinde), Ashutosh Gaikwad (Aakash Shinde), etc. They played their supporting roles perfectly. Moreover, hearing the Marathi language in this film, we also get to peek into the thriving Marathi theatre in Maharashtra. As Sajini’s father plays the role of a theatre artist.

Recently, we reviewed another Hindi film named Dhak Dhak, which also revolved around four women challenging the rigid paternalistic attitudes in Indian society. It is really praiseworthy that nowadays, we are getting some good quality movies from India that question the well-entrenched patriarchal culture in the society of India. This film also raises quite a few socially relevant questions about the status of women in Indian society. From this film, we loved the soft song, Dil Mera. Shruti Dhasmana has sung and composed this number. Then, for the youngsters, there is Girls Night Out, a party song.
