Ghosted (2023) is a romantic action movie from North America. The two leading stars are Chris Evans and Ana de Armas in this Hollywood-produced adventure comedy film.
Deviating from the classic theme of damsel-in-distress, this new-age movie has a man-in-distress Chris Evans playing the role of a simpleton Cole Turner. On the other hand, in a role-reversal damsel Ana de Armas plays a globe-trotting and legendary CIA agent Sadie Rhodes. Lives in the 21st century certainly demand an equitable role for both sexes.
In addition to this movie, we have seen both the good-looking actors – Chris Evans and Ana de Armas in Knives Out film and they were good in that whodunit drama.
But, let us talk about the latest action-filled 2023 movie of these two actors here.

Ghosted (USA/2023) Movie:- {Spoilers Free} review
The romantic life of Cole Turner (Chris Evan) and Sadie Rhodes (Ana de Armas becomes complicated when Cole gets pulled into the deadly and dangerous world of modern-day spies. Although most of the critics have criticised this film, I liked this light-hearted movie. For me, it is a cheerful and total time-pass movie. No doubt, the easy-going and attractive pairing of Chris and Ana in this film certainly helped.
As I told you all earlier Ana de Armas and Chris Evans have starred together in Knives Out (2019) and The Gray Man (2022) movies. We have already reviewed Knives Out and we will do the same with The Gray Man, which stars an Indian actor Dhanush. I liked this feel-good and high-spirited movie. Also, I loved this modern-day idea of role reversal. Three big cheers to that, yup.
In fact. it became the most-watched film debut in Apple TV+ history.
So, this spy/romantic drama is worth a watch at least.
Ghosted (USA/2023) Movie:- {Spoilers Alert} about title, lead characters & their fate
Focus on the Ghosted Word
No, this movie is not about Ghosts. In other words, this movie is not a horror film.
Well, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, Ghosting is abruptly ending communication with someone without explanation. This concept most often refers to romantic relationships but can also describe disappearances from friendships and the workplace. And this is what happened when Sadie Rhodes suddenly disappeared from the life of Cole Turner and stopped communicating with him.
Focus on the lead characters of this movie
Sadie Rhodes (Ana de Armas) is a legendary CIA operative.
Not many people are aware of her real identity. She (some people believe that a fabled female CIA agent is actually a man with amazing skill sets) is “The Taxman” in the global spy world. And herein the stereotyping creates all sorts of problems in the lives of Cole Turner and Sadie Rhodes.
Cole Turner (Chris Evans) is a simple everyday common man.
He is a vendor in the farmers market of Washington DC. Nursing a broken heart, he falls head-over-heels in love with Sadie Rhodes. Thus, he chases her across the continents. So, a simple guy gets romantically linked with a female spy and their lives become complicated.
Focus on the fate of Sadie & Cole in this movie
In the end, both Sadie Rhodes and Cole Turner act as (spy) partners and take down the bad guys in the end. Having completed their dangerous and life-threatening missions, both of them decide to give another shot to their love life. And then perhaps live happily ever after with each other.

Critics’ Consensus / Rotten Tomatoes Audience Says / Rotten Tomatoes | Listlessly wafting between action, comedy, and romance without ever solidifying into a satisfying whole, this film earns a chorus of boos. . This film isn’t great, but if you’re in the mood for a fun, lightweight action movie, there are definitely worse options. |
