Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) Film:- {Spoilers Free} review

I still remember watching his first movie “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981) in a cinema hall, a long time ago as a kid, and getting mesmerised by the mind-blowing action adventures of Indiana Jones, unveiling itself on the big single screen. That first movie had Nazi characters and now even this latest one has a Nazi villain too. Life indeed has come to a full circle for both Indy – the character and Harrison – the actor in this movie franchise.

As a kid and even as an adult, if you take a closer look at the character of Indiana Jones, then you get to learn about the different human values that his movies have always touched upon. For example, in his globe-trotting adventures across different countries spanning many years, Indiana Jones has managed to build a lasting bond of friendship with many characters, including Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) whom we see in it.

Then the immense courage and dogged perseverance of Indy are worth admiring in the movie. He never ever gives up. Always ready to fight a good fight. Even when the odds are heavily stacked against him.

Indian Jones – this story of the esteemed archaeological professor is indeed fascinating, as he searches for historic treasures with great significance, once again. One of the good things about the technological advancement is that we got to see the younger (de-aged) versions of both the older actors Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen in the flashback scene of this film. Thanks to much-improved CGI and AI effects, we get to admire the film’s great special effects.

“They have this artificial intelligence program that can go through every foot of film that Lucasfilm owns. Because I did a bunch of movies for them, they have all this footage, including film that wasn’t printed. So they can mine it from where the light is coming from, from the expression. I don’t know how they do it. But that’s my actual face. Then I put little dots on my face and I say the words and they make [it]. It’s fantastic.”

Harrison Ford explained how the filmmakers digitally de-aged him for the flashback sequences

Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) leads its talented ensemble cast of Mads Mikkelsen (Dr. Voller – Nazi), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Helena), Antonio Banderas (Renaldo), Boyd Holbrook (Klaber), Ethann Isidore (Teddy), etc. in this enjoyable family film. They have done a good job of giving another good film in this Indian Jones movie franchise. And the music in this film is as usual, of the highest class – its unforgettable title music continues.

Thankfully, almost all of the Indian Jones movies have been offering fun rides to viewers like me. And this film is no different, it has always been a good adventure trip. Sadly, this is the last of Indiana Jones films.
