The introduction

It is an engaging and fascinating series that follows the extraordinary experiences of six couples from various backgrounds, emphasizing how love can overcome differences and obstacles. By sharing their individual stories, the show demonstrates the powerful impact of love in bringing people together and creating lasting bonds.

Mind you, India is one of the most diverse nations in the world. But we are living in an age, where diversity is scoffed at. Perhaps, even the highest and most powerful official of this sub-continental nation is propagating the idea of One Nation and One (Dominant) Religion freely. He is of course supported by his fanatical followers. All in contravention of the sublime Constitution of India.

The ground reality is that the heterogeneity of Indian people (population) is indeed mind-boggling. Now how do you violently try to redefine and confine the world of LOVE in a very narrow term of caste and religion? This seems so unnatural and artificial. More so, in India, the so-called one of the largest democracies of the world.

But this is exactly what is happening in India, these days.

The mobocracy wants to control the idea of “LOVE” in India in the twenty-first century.

Documentary Series’ Review in Brief

The documentary depicts the six love stories. Their love stories blur all kinds of boundaries created by humans, viz., age, religion, social, caste, gender, national, international, etc.

Kudos to Karan Johar and his Dharmatic Entertainment company for bringing us a diverse range of love stories from different corners of India. In the past, as a Director (& Producer), Karan has given us typical love and romantic love stories from India. Just to name a few movies of his, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006), My Name Is Khan (2010), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), etc. Most of his films are typical Indian melodramas with popular songs and dance routines.

But those were reel tales. And this documentary of his is about real people with real issues. We think, in all of these six real-life tales, the palate of love is charming and delicious.

Well, how can we judge and review these six real-life love stories? It will not be right to put the love story of one couple above that of another. As each one of them is special in their own right. So, we will not put our FM rating on the six love stories mentioned above instead we shall give a big thumbs up to this documentary series about LOVE in INDIA.
