To recap, what we have seen so far in the three seasons of the Jack Ryan series. Its protagonist, Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) deals with Islamic extremist terrorism in the first season. Then he comes across a case of election manipulation in Venezuela in the second season. These modern-day villains are working to streamline and converge their operations in various countries – Myanmar, Nigeria, Switzerland, Mexico, USA, etc., located on the different continents of the world.

New challenges in the globalized world

Both the criminals (drug lords) and the terrorists (extremists) join hands as it seems the world has shrunk considerably. Not to forget the bunch of influential people in the corridors of power are operating in secret to gain control of the system – political as well as economic, not only in the USA but at the global level.

This highly secretive group is smuggling illegal and dangerous materials using the ports from Myanmar to Nigeria to Mexico and finally to the USA. These people are using the drug cartel’s deep pockets and other human resources to create a highly organized global market for crime.

In short, it brings together the drug cartels and the terrorist organizations of the world. As they pose a new kind of threat to the entire world, especially the USA.

To unmask this powerful and highly secretive group, Jack Ryan joins together with his trusted group of friends and colleagues, like – Elizabeth Wright (Betty Gabriel), Jim Greer (Wendell Pierce), Mike November (Michael Kelly), Domingo Chavez (Michael Peña), et al. In his covert mission, Jack and his friends can destroy the basic infrastructure of these criminals in Mexico, Myanmar and other nations.

Phew!

So, in the nick of time, Jack Ryan and his teammates save the day for the USA, once again.

Domingo “Ding” Chavez is an intriguing character

In Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan books, Domingo “Ding” Chavez’s character is an important one. He has appeared in many novels penned by Tom. So, not surprisingly, talented actor Michael Peña played the key role of CIA operative Domingo here.

Guessing the future of Jack Ryan’s character in the upcoming shows, if any

So, what happened at the end of the finale?

As this series headed toward its end, we heard an interesting bit of chat between Jack Ryan and his friends – James Greer, Domingo Chavez, Mike November and Elizabeth Wright. One of them said in a light-hearted manner that Jack did so well in the Congressional hearing that the US President might go ahead and ask Jack to run for president one day. Then, Jack promptly replied, “Not a chance in hell.”

But, the readers of Tom Clancy’s books know his story.

Jack Ryan as the politician!?

In case you are interested in learning about Jack Ryan’s future as well as other characters in the author Tom Clancy’s novels, then go ahead and check out Tom Clancy’s website for further details. As per details about Jack Ryan in his novel, it seems that with the final season (four) of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Show, the CIA analyst Jack Ryan is going to leave his job at the CIA and perhaps move on to the green pasture of politics. So, this is the last time we’ll see John Krasinski as a CIA agent.

What did Tom Clancy write in his novels and the conclusion

As you might be aware the author Tom Clancy has created the iconic character of Jack Ryan and written a series of books about his adventures. In his books, the former U.S. Marine Jack Ryan joins the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) as an analyst/agent and then gets involved in many dangerous field assignments around the world, in order to safeguard the interest of the U.S. nation. Also, according to Clancy’s books, Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish) and Jack Ryan get married and have kids.

Later on, Cathy becomes the First Lady when Jack is elected president of the USA. In addition, the Clancy books further reveal that Ryan becomes the US President, because of the complex situation, when everybody dies in the 1994 story “Debt of Honor” book. The 2001 tale “The Bear and the Dragon” novel tells us that Ryan does eventually win an election in the US in his own right,

So, perhaps it means that it is not the end of the Jack Ryan franchise on the Prime Video network.
