Kill (2024) Hindi movie sells itself to be the most violent and goriest film India has ever produced. This action-packed Hindi film boasts too much blood, brutality, carnage, slaughter, etc.
So, the “Kill” movie uses graphic violence and unprecedented action sequences as its (USP) unique selling proposition. Undoubtedly, the entire movie team has worked hard to break new ground in the Indian film industry.

The storyline/plotline/synopsis/summary
Upon learning that his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is being coerced into a marriage she does not want, army commando Amrit (Lakshya) decides to intervene by boarding a train bound for New Delhi from Ranchi. As the situation escalates with a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the brutal Fani (Raghav Juyal) terrorizing the train passengers, Amrit steps up to confront the armed criminals. Thereby risking his life in a thrilling showdown to ensure the safety of those on board and turning an ordinary train journey into a pulse-pounding escapade.
87Eleven Entertainment, renowned for the successful 'John Wick' franchise featuring Keanu Reeves, revealed their acquisition of the rights to produce a Hollywood remake of the 'Kill' film just three days prior to its release.
It is a simple tale packed with a lot of graphic violence
During an overnight train trip from Ranchi to New Delhi, a pair of commandos Amrit Rathod (Lakshya) and Viresh Chatwal (Abhishek Chauhan) face an army of invading armed bandits (train dacoits) led by Fani (Raghav Juyal). A free-for-all fight breaks out between these soldiers and bandits, as they try to save their loved ones. And as expected, a bunch of tragic and painful deaths happen because of the violent fights between them.
So, this simple tale is told in two broad halves. In the first half, we see the defensive fight scenes by the two special forces soldiers. But then in the second half, the highly trained commando launches offensive action sequences. It is worth noting that almost ninety (90%) per cent of this film is set inside the passenger bogies of the train. So, while watching it, one could feel claustrophobic as the majority of the graphic violent scenes take place in tight spaces of train bogies.
Inspired by a real-life train robbery, this Hindi film breaks new grounds
The writer and director of the “Kill” movie, Nikhil Nagesh Bhat has disclosed that it was inspired by a real-life train robbery he experienced in 1995, almost three decades ago. Last year, we reviewed “Apurva” (2023), another Hindi movie made by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. Interestingly, that film also followed a similar template. Now, with the “Kill” (2024) movie, Nikhil has taken it a notch above his previous film.
It seems that Nikhil is trying to break new ground with his new generation of Hindi movies. If one takes a closer look, then one would find that most Hindi (Indian) movies have a running time closer to two and a half hours or more. Then, there are mandatory songs-and-dance numbers that add glamour and vibrant colours to the movies from India. However, this new-generational Hindi film is more like Hollywood movies in its content and length. It neither has a songs-and-dance scene nor crosses a two-hour mark.
In addition, the fight scenes are brutally realistic. These high-octane blood-soaked action stunts were shot skillfully as most of the fight scenes were taken at very close quarters involving hand-to-hand combats.
Honestly, it was difficult for us to watch this film loaded with graphic violence. It is not for faint-hearted people like us. But, then many other movie theatre viewers seemed to love its content. Was it their guilty pleasure?
The conclusion
The supporting cast members Tanya Maniktala (Tulika Singh), Abhishek Chauhan (Viresh Chatwal), Ashish Vidyarthi (Beni), Harsh Chhaya (Baldeo Singh Thakur), etc. did play their parts, but they did not have much to do. We have last seen actress Tanya Maniktala and actor Harsh Chhaya in the PI Meena (2023) Series, but in this action movie, they had limited roles and screen presence.
Both main actors, the protagonist Lakshya (Amrit Rathod) and the antagonist Raghav Juyal (Fani), have done a convincing job. It was the first time, we had watched actor Lakshya (Laksh Lalwani) in a film and we were impressed with his action scenes. Besides, we have always known Raghav Juyal as a dancer and choreographer. In a complete 360-degree transformation, Raghav has portrayed a villain convincingly. Along with Nikhil, Lakshya, Raghav and other members of this “Kill” film team, all of them certainly herald a new era of action movies in India. And we are sure that filmmaker Nikhil will keep pushing the envelope, in future too.
