Mayans M.C. is an action-packed intense crime drama from the well-known show creator Kurt Sutter from the USA. Accordingly, the full form of Mayans M.C. is the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

This show at first is about an outlaw biker gang based in the border towns of the USA (California) and Mexico. However, they are more like an organized crime family filled with male biker members. Furthermore, this motorcycle club has a well-defined hierarchy and organizational structure in place, like a well-oiled motorbike machine.

In general, it is worth noting that the indigenous people of Mesoamerica are known as Mayans. Also, it signifies the domination of native Latin Americans in this motorcycle club.

Moreover, the background stories of almost all the major and minor characters in this show have offered the viewers to understand the pains and tribulations that each of them carries in their lives. This show is insightful, because of this unique take on the emotional and psychological baggage.

About Reyes brothers – EZ & Angel

Markedly, the protagonist of the Mayans M.C. series – Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes has been explored in amazing detail. Above all, his character arc and growth in this complex crime drama are fascinating to watch. Besides the complicated family dynamics of Reyes is a captivating tale. The story of two brothers “EZ” and “Angel”, both hurting from childhood trauma and yet they continue to seek peace and happiness in their lives.

In this layered story, besides “EZ and “Angel”, almost all the characters in the series are caught in a convoluted web of life. Most of them are outlaws, while those who are not criminals and are mere civilians, lives of these non-criminals are also being adversely affected because of their relations and associations with the members of the Mayans M.C.

So, there is the border created by the politicians dividing North America into the USA and Mexico. As a result, the powerful Governments and their corrupt law enforcement agencies pursue their agenda on both sides of it. Then the outlaws, their friends and their family members try to live in it with dignity and pride. But then, our society and the world are not perfect. So, this crime drama is about – who lives and who dies in it. Consequently, it is a sad and tragic reality of the times that its characters live in.

Particularly, the entire ensemble cast members, viz., JD Pardo (Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes), Clayton Cardenas (Angel Reyes), Edward James Olmos (Felipe Reyes), Danny Pino (Miguel Galindo), Carla Baratta (Adelita), Sarah Bolger (Emily Thomas), Michael Irby (Obispo “Bishop” Losa), Frankie Loyal (Hank “El Tranq” Loza), Joseph Raymond Lucero (Neron “Creeper” Vargas), Vincent Vargas (Gilberto “Gilly” Lopez), Richard Cabral (Johnny “Coco” Cruz), Emilio Rivera (Marcus Alvarez), etc. of this tension and adrenaline-filled crime tale have performed well. Above all, they have done good acting jobs in this complex tale about the outlaws. Moreover, all of them, including the minor characters, have performed competently in their respective roles.

Notably, this Mayans M.C. show is a contemporary tale about the survival of the fittest dictum. It is also about the “karma”, the good or bad effect of doing something almost always catches up with the people. Moreover, the interesting criminal and non-criminal characters in this series are no exception. By all means, we appreciate the ending of the show, its writers got it right. In conclusion, we think, that Mayans M.C. is a good series to watch.

The moral learnings are simple in it – the crimes don’t pay, usually, unless one is smart and lucky enough to escape the one’s karma.

Set in a post-Jax Teller world, “Mayans MC” sees EZ Reyes, a former golden boy now fresh out of prison, as a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border who must carve out his new outlaw identity. So, life is not a bed of roses for the EZ.

1. Perro/Oc (Dog)

Fresh from jail, former golden boy `EZ’ Reyes has joined the biker gang his brother rides with but masks an ulterior motive. But the violent hijacking of a cartel drug shipment they are guarding shows that EZ is not the only group member with a secret. EZ’s fate is in flux as the M.C. and the cartel find a common adversary.

2. Escorpion/Dzec (Scorpion)

A cruel kidnapping results in retribution even the Mayan bikers find distasteful. Their search for the stolen drugs unearths troubling news for Coco, while EZ has an emotional encounter at his father’s shop. The Mayans seek answers from a local crew as the Galindo worlds – north and south of the USA-Mexico border collide.

3. Buho/Muwan (Owl)

High-stakes casino encounters echo EZ’s violent past, while his father Felipe resents suspicious surveillance. Meanwhile, The cartel crackdown on small fry rivals results in bloodshed. The M.C. alliances are tested; also the Galindo family adopts unconventional methods.

4. Murciélago/Zotz (Bat)

A border shooting proves to be more than just redneck `target practice’, EZ is told to exploit Emily while she tries to counter the rebel propaganda, and a secret shatters Coco’s family. A new threat in Santo Padre presents the Mayans with new obstacles and opportunities.

5. Uch/Opossum (Ouch)

A new deal is made in Santa Madre, which brings about an alliance between two major players. However, the deal could also result in a lot of people being seriously hurt. Moreover, a new deal requires a dangerous favour in Santa Madre.

6. Gato/Mis (Cat)

Galindo gets the ransom demand for his son, while Coco’s difficult daughter puts EZ in compromising situations. Mistrust amongst the MC mounts. EZ continues to prove his worth as a prospect as both sides of the border must grapple with harsh realities.

7. Cucaracha/K’uruch (Cockroach)

Cruel confrontations occur when EZ’s deal is revoked, Adelita faces Felipe, Galindo learns the extent of the rebel plot, and Coco’s girl has a grudge against her grandmother. New secrets are brought to light, putting the M.C. at odds.

8. Rata/Ch’o (Rat)

Ez finds a new perspective, as he is forced to deal with some horrifying experiences. However, his past continues to haunt him as he struggles to cope. EZ’s past haunts him, but present horrors give him a new perspective.

9. Serpiente/Chikchan (Snake)

Dealing with the Devil has the Reyes brothers in debt to arrogant Potter, from whose grasp Galindo wants wriggle room, though the price proves murderous. The bond of Reyes’s blood is fractured, also the Galindo family decides to cut its losses.

10. Cuervo/Tz’ikb’uul (Raven)

Unfinished business blights party preparations for EZ and Angel, hoping for fresh starts after all the secrets and lies, even as events overtake them. The club has reason to celebrate, but big changes leave the future uncertain.

Mayans M.C. is the next chapter in the Sons of Anarchy saga. Set in a post-Jax Teller world, EZ Reyes is a prospect in the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Once the golden boy with the American Dream is in his grasp, EZ is trying to reconcile with his brother “Angel” while searching for the truth behind their mother’s death.

1. Xbalanque

{The twin gods Hunahpu and Xbalanque were heroes in the mythology of the Mayan, a people of Central America. }

A murderous raid backfires for EZ and the gang when a covert ally is caught, while Angel’s animosity toward his brother troubles their chief. The Reyes family is divided; the M.C. uncovers an internal leak.

2. Xaman-Ek

{Xaman-Ek is the god of travellers and merchants in the mythology of the Mayan, who gave offerings to him on the side of roads while travelling.}

As EZ and Angel reconnect, although complications arise for the MC and Galindo, Angel goes to see Adelita, and Mini packs her things to run away. As EZ and Angel reconnect, complications arise for the M.C. and Galindo.

3. Camazotz

{Camazotz means “death bat” in the Kʼicheʼ language. In Mesoamerica generally, the bat is often associated with night, death, and sacrifice.}

Vengeance for a nasty incident has key Mayans aiding their Stockton brethren, and Emily tries bribery back in Santo Padre. Mayans seek justice while Galindo’s deal takes an unexpected turn south of the border.

4. Lahun Chan

{Mayan God Lahun Chan is associated with the morning star. It has ugly teeth and claws, has the head of a jaguar and walks like a drunk.}

EZ and Angel confront their mother’s killer, thereby resorting to tactics tough to cover up. Galindo’s family members face strategic challenges. On the other hand, the secrets behind the death of EZ and Angel’s mother unfold.

5. Xquic

{Xquic sometimes glossed as “Blood Moon” or “Blood Girl/Maiden” in English) is a mythological figure known from the 16th-century Kʼicheʼ manuscript Popol Vuh.}

However, an unexpected storm kicks up dust south of the border, as old family secrets bleed into familial affairs.

6. Muluc

{Muluc or Water or Offering is the ninth sign of the Mayan zodiac. It is a sign of peace and freedom, but it also encompasses the challenges that we face to maintain those things. It represents paying off your past due debts which can either be spiritual or physical.}

A brutal abduction, decade-old accounts and a corrupt clerk contribute to a hectic day for EZ Reyes, in service to his fellows and family. Violent actions yield violent ramifications for both the MC and Galindo cartels.

7. Tohil

{Deerskins, the symbol of Tohil, are to this day venerated in many highland Maya communities and are used in dances.}

Unscrupulous bikers, intruding on Mayans’ turf, must be taught a lesson, while Galindo wonders if Emily is to blame for the mayor’s misgivings. Moreover, EZ and the MC fight fire with fire, careful not to be burned in the process.

8. Kukulkan

{Kukulkan is the serpent deity of Mayan mythology.}

A biker summit requires a troubling alliance to be agreed upon, and it proves costly. Emily makes a damaging discovery while digging into the past for EZ. A deal is on the table for the MC but the price is paid in blood.

9. Itzam-Ye

{Itzam-Ye is a Mayan deity in bird form which is nested in the axis of the great Ceiba tree, the World Tree, which connects the underworld with the middle world (earth) and the upper world.}

Revenge or revenue? Bishop’s men face a dilemma. On the other hand, Felipe reveals to his sons some past cartel connections. However, dramatic revelations carve out different paths to vengeance.

10. Hunahpu

{Hunahpu represents the birth, death and rebirth of a human. The Mayan people pray to One Hunahpu for a good crop but also a good life.}

Forgiving foes is tough for any Mayans man, let alone EZ and Angel, with personal scores to settle and sins to be punished. However, the need for justice ignites tough decisions for the Reyes brothers and the MC.

Bishop hopes an old-school stunt can salvage the plan to break ranks with rival Mayans, even as other criminal players muscle in. Also, Bishop takes a risky approach to solving the club’s supply problems.

EZ has a difficult time finding his footing in the club’s hierarchy, and Angel loses himself to sex, booze, and violence. The club seeks retribution for a recent affront.

Downer and Guero try to pin a set of murders on the Sons of Anarchy. Meanwhile, Alvarez looks for answers after he learns of Diaz’s death. The Mayans lay Creeper to rest in a final goodbye. The MC united for a final goodbye.

9. I Must Go in Now for the Fog Is Rising

As the Sons close in on the Mayans, EZ crosses paths with a familiar stranger.

10. Slow to Bleed Fair Son

After discovering his nemesis Isaac was behind his father’s murder, EZ sets off in search of revenge and attacks Isaac at a club party; thereby things take a dark turn at the club when a revelation comes to light.
